You may be very wise about those sorts of things and people may really admire you for that knowledge—but if you don’t have the wisdom of God, you’re missing the most important knowledge a man can ever hope to attain. Proverbs 9:10 reads, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Wisdom starts when we begin to reverence God above all other things. And when that reverence moves us to seek God through His Word, we gain understanding.
